Ruger 77 barrel type

Post by grounder » Tue Feb 11, 2014 9:54 pm

I am new to this forum, and have a question that I cannot find the answer for. I have a Ruger Old Model 77 with the tang safety, and I am trying to purchase a new stock for it. It is chambered in .25-06, wood stock with red butt pad. It has a large diameter(.880 inch at forend of stock) barrel, and is very heavy. I have found the stock available at an online dealer, but I need to know if this is a 'Varmint' model. or a 'bull' barrel. The serial number is 73-xxx27.
