Ruger M77 Remington Mag "SPECIAL" ?

Post by Shinglehouse » Tue Dec 30, 2014 8:26 pm

I was told this Ruger M77 Rem. 7mm Mag. serial #71-81218 had to be special ordered.
Seller says it's a custom barrel & few were ever made. Looks like all the other Ruger M77 Rem. Mags. to me.

Can anyone tell me the truth ? :?:

Is this rifle (71-81218) looks the same as all the others produced ? :?:
Exclusive of small details over production years. ie: checkering ,color, wood, butt pads.

I'm only concerned with the barrel & cambering, were their ever special Ruger M77 Rem. Mags. Made ? :ugeek:
Would really appreciate any help or an answer, Ruger says it's prior to their computer system info so they want to be paid for an answer. :shock:

It looks like the one in the photo.... :D

That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out. :?:

Ruger says the rifles are too old and not in their new computer system so they want $20.00 just to tell me if they are the same or not (Special order), possibly a thicker barrel ?, the length is the same.

I know a guy that has one of these. Refer back to original post;

"I was told this Ruger M77 Rem. 7mm Mag. serial #71-81218 had to be special ordered. Seller says it's a custom barrel & few were ever made. Looks like all the other Ruger M77 Rem. Mags. to me."

According to him he's been offered $3,200.00 for it. You can find these rifles for sale for $400 to $600 depending on condition etc. So I'm confused...I took a good look at the one he has, that's the correct model & serial number.

Ruger is a very respected name in the revolver world. One in a 44 mag will definately do in a deer.
