Shot tens of thousands of round through it with a single ND or misfire, but had it stolen from me in the early '70's. 40 years later I'm owning another old style Single Six and found this Forum. Looking forward to learning and interacting with the members here. all the best, Doc

0 Replies and 2418 Views new member with a .45 Blackhawk question  2418  0 Started by  nrvdiver I inherited a most beautiful Ruger New Model .45 caliber Blackhawk with two cylinders that was custom engraved by the reknown master engraver for Colt named Howard Dove. Mr. Dove engraved it about six months before his death as a special gift to the man from his hometown who recommended him to Colt . This treasure has been stored in a safe and as far as I know, has never been handled without a cloth to protect its beauty. This revolver was one of my friend's most valuable possessions and I saw ...

0 Replies and 2614 Views New member in Delaware  2614  0 Started by  NedM Good day: Joined hoping to learn a thing or two regarding Rugers. My first handgun was a Bearcat purchased in 1969 (I think). Still have that one. Had two Vaqueros that I used in some SASS events but drifted away from that, sold them, and now do some Bullseye shooting using S&W revolvers. Have sort of come ''full circle'' with a rekindled interest in Rugers. Am now leaning towards acquiring a Bisley or two... Thank you. Ned

0 Replies and 2508 Views New Member  2508  0 Started by  omrugersafan I've been an old model Ruger single action fan since I received a brand new Single Six in 1957 as a gift when I was 17 years old. I really didn't start accumulating the old model revolvers until I had married and raised a family but I've since assembled a small collection of Flat Tops, 1962 Model Blackhawks, Single Sixes and Bearcats and I hope to add to my knowledge of these fine firearms as a member of this forum.

I've owned Ruger's for years. The most accurate pistol I ever shot was a Blackhawk chambered in .30 carbine w/ a 7 1/2'' barrel, it was probably the loudest also. It was louder than my .44mag. anyway the gun I'm looking for info on is a stainless steel vaquero, 045lc, 51/2'' and across the top of the barrel it says; ''ARIZONA RANGERS'' Ruger told me the gun was made in 1994 &am...
