0 Replies and 2830 Views Ruger standard, MK1, or MK2 ?  2830  0 Started by  holderc_vet I have a Ruger .22 cal pistol that I bought used 10 - 15 years ago. The reciever has no tapering cut outs at the bolt tabs, has a ''Micro'' adjustable rear sight, and a six in. barrel. It has a bolt release lever on the left side above the grip and does lock back on an empty mag. The STRANGE thing is that there is NO writing on the pistol EXCEPT: R005 stamped on the right side of the reciever just forward of the ejection port. Can anyone help me with the history of this pistol

0 Replies and 2746 Views New Model Stainless Blackhawk 5-1/2" Bbl. Quest.  2746  0 Started by  flattop44 For the person who was asking the question about his Stainless 5-1/2'' barrel .45,KBN455, you post was deleted in error and I apologize. Anyway, please repost if you wish. Its believed that only about 2,000 - 2,500 have been made in limited runs starting '84 and some since then. The ones that are really scarce to downright rare is the KBN455X, the stainless 5-1/2'' with .45 Colt & .45ACP cylinders...less than 100 were made. FT44

0 Replies and 3686 Views 1954 Ruger Mark I 6 7/8" Bull Barrel with Compensator?  3686  0 Started by  slacks Hello. New to the forum and posting my first question: I recently came across a couple Mark I Bull Barrels in an estate. The first was a readily identified 1970 Target with a 5 1/2'' bull barrel. However I am looking for more information about the second: a 1964 Target with a 6 7/8'' bull barrel with built in compensator (cut into top of barrel and notched around front sight). In short, all the info I have found mentions 6 7/8'' barrels being tapered and all the compensators I have seen have be...

0 Replies and 3267 Views Ruger MKI original or altered?  3267  0 Started by  benenglish2 I recently bought a nice MKI. I'm wondering if it is all original. The seller was willing to swear on a stack of bibles that it was made in 1958, he had been the sole owner, and that not a single part on the pistol had ever been changed. I don't have another MKI handy to compare to, so I thought I'd ask the experts. First, here's the pistol: &91attachment=3&93MKI.JPG&91/attachment&93 My fuzzy recollection is that the triggers weren't that thick. Here's a closeup of the trigger: &91atta...

0 Replies and 2771 Views Ruger Corporate Attitude  2771  0 Started by  No1RugerBob I have been a RCA member for almost 50 years (I'm 83). I have 20 Ruger Rifles and an equal Number of Handguns. Since Bill Ruger's death and the exit of the family from management it seems to me that Ruger is no longer interested in the shooter/owner but only in the mass market. Ruger has no Custom Shop. They no longer ''support'' any firearm not currently in production. My 77 Mar II Magnum Express.458 Lott, which was purchased last year, is not supported any more. Ruger seems only to cate...

0 Replies and 3718 Views Do you display any of your Rugers?  3718  0 Started by  NedM Good day: Recently joined this organization and have already seen photos of some very nice Ruger guns. I was wondering if any of you display your firearms in your homes or do you feel that is just asking for trouble (i.e. thieves). Hoping to attend the Harrisburg show next year and I'm sure I'll see many outstanding samples. Seems a shame owners do not feel comfortable having them in view but I certainly understand the reluctance. Ned

0 Replies and 2747 Views SuperBlackHawk serial No. D80258  2747  0 Started by  beshears I had a Super Blackhawk stolen over Labor day weekend. When I reported the serial number to the ATF they said it was an unusual number for a Ruger. It was recovered and I checked the serial Number and I had given them the correct Number. I looked it up and found out that the D in front of the serial number was from when Ruger duplicated serial numbers and added the D to 800 of them. Now that I know what I have, any Idea of value Finish is poor at about 50 but everything else is good. It has...
