0 Replies and 4971 Views Ruger No.1A .22 Hornet  4971  0 Started by  Akboater I recently acquired a No.1A in 99 condition that has a 22'' tapered barrel with no sights. It does have the barrel band for sling swivel. It has the red pad and I believe it was built in 1981. Looking at the Blue Book of Gun Values, it seems this is one of 355 built but I've never seen another 1A without sights from the factory and I have no indications that this is anything but a factory gun. Does anyone have any information/insight they could share Is this a rare No. 1 Thanks!

0 Replies and 6025 Views Collector 's firearm or not?  6025  0 Started by  T.Warner I have a 10-22, maple stock, barrel tapped for a pistol scope, with a medallion inset on the side of the stock that is an engraving of ''chief AJ'' with serial 00 out of 100 made. It also has little brass pins on the front of the stock for grips. My father purchased this rifle at a gun show, from the chief, 20 years ago. It was shortly after he set a world record for shooting with 10-22 s.Now it's mine. My question is ''did ruger do this or did the chief take it upon himself and do it'' What...

It has the three screws on the frame indicating it is a conversion model. Serial number does not begin with 30 as most I have in standard configurations. Ruger wants a letter with info sent to them with about a 30 day time for return info. Unfortunately I need the info sooner.I will post a couple photos shortly.

0 Replies and 4198 Views 1967 Ruger 44 International Carbine  4198  0 Started by  Jack53 I have a 1967 Ruger 44 carbine with the International or Manlicher stock. It has been in my possession since 1969-70. Excellent condition with the exception of some minor bluing wear on the end of the barrel from gun case. No rust, 1 tiny scratch on stock, not thru the finish. Has a Weaver scope on it, but the stock sights are still present. Probably less than a box of shells thru it. Any idea of worth Thanks, Jack

0 Replies and 4211 Views old single six lightweight flatgate  4211  0 Started by  brianjohn I picked up this old single six recently. Has the serial number 882, but has lightwieght gripframe and chrome steel cylinder. The man I bought from said his dad had bought it new for his mom. My modest research shows the lightweight was produced later than 54. Could he haver ordered it this way, or was this all something done afterwards.

0 Replies and 4529 Views Question about 80's security six I have.  4529  0 Started by  jwdix Back in the early 80's my Dad gave me a Ruger Security Six in 38sp. only stainless. I have a copy of letter from the department of California Highway Patrol to Doerr Distributing company inc. saying they changed there minds about buying the 500 Ruger's because of safety reasons. So the 500 made for CHP were never shipped, but they were made. I have one, it's stamped CHP has adjustable rear site and 6in barrel. The gun is new unfired in the box. Just wondering the value Thanks, Jerry I...

Should a person shoot a truly collector grade gun. My short answer is: Yes. My long answer is: Maybe - Mabe Not. Some may find this interesting as the decision whether or not to fire a limited edition rifle was made for me by the entity the arm was shipped to.... The Winchester was part of a GM incentive package that included scope and mounts, the receiving ffl dept. store 'gunsmit...

It's a 5-1/2'' blue bicentennial .22 super six, was new when I purchased. I have everything - box, wrapping paper, owners manual, unfilled out unfolded warranty card, the gun shops price tag on a string, Also have both cylinders. On a scale of 10, this gun is a 9.5. The manual is a little worn but again it is 62 years old. If I can get a decent pri...
