0 Replies and 1987 Views My Ruger 22/45 Great Eight For Sale  1987  0 Started by  BarkeyVA I am selling my Ruger 22/45 "Great Eight", Competition Target Model 00197, Serial No. 225-095XX in the original box.  The sealed envelope with the test fired cartridge case was signed and dated 07-02-2002.    According to the Reference of Ruger Firearms, Pocket Edition 2, several thousand were thought to have been produced from 2000-2002 and 2004 for Davidson&39;s (AZ).   I bought it several years ago as a consignment gun from a local dealer to...

0 Replies and 3036 Views Will Repairing A Red Eagle Standard affect its value?  3036  0 Started by  Red_Eagles_4Ever I have a 1951 Red Eagle Standard Pistol, "Type 8", serial number 14***.  Fixed sights   Original manual, but no box, &39;salt cod&39; shipping box or anything like that.  It shot well, and had been well used---the Red Eagle was partially worn away when I purchased the pistol a few years ago. No rust, some wear of the blueing by the front of the receiver. I&39;m not confident in my ability to describe its condition according to NRA grades.   Anywa...

3 Replies and 2882 Views Ruger 1950 Standard Red Eagle  2882  3 Started by  theo98 Hello,   It was recommended by Ruger for me to join and request information from the RCA on my new aqusisition, a 1950 Ruger Red Eagle Standard, SN-3560! After my through take down review, it should rate as an NRA "Excellent" status, with 99 perfect bluing and a basically "new" look (inside and out), including an original Red Eagle grip emblem. Rifling is superb and overall, appears to have been fired very little over the past 70 years! According to the Ruger seni...

0 Replies and 3170 Views 1982 RCA Mk II  3170  0 Started by  Bullet Bob I recently purchased this unfired Ruger Collectors Association Mark II .22 with ivory grips, the RCA logo scrimshawed on one panel, and the RCA logo filled in with gold on the top of the receiver. I bought it from a fairly large retailer who had purchased several Ruger .22 pistols from an estate. It has the cardboard Ruger Collector Association box, and wooden ''salt cod'' box, but no other paperwork. I contacted Ruger, and their reply told me it was made in 1982, the first year of Mk II pro...

0 Replies and 3213 Views 1949 ruger standard  3213  0 Started by  Salem06420 Hi everyone. I have a chance to purchase a 1949 ruger standard serial number 05XX. I know it's hard to determine condition of a gun based on what I tell you without pictures but I'd say it's in better than fair condition. As a long time ruger fan it would be very cool to have a gun that came out the original ruger shop 70 years ago, nevermind one of the first few hundred guns ruger ever made. I'm having a hard time locking down a realistic price for what this gun is worth and need some expertise...

0 Replies and 3342 Views Ruger Standard ???  3342  0 Started by  huskerbob I own a Ruger Mark III and yesterday added this Ruger Standard to my gun safe. Based on the S/N it was built in 1981. It has the 6'' barrel. At some point in it's life someone switched out the grips and unfortunately, the original grips didn't come to me with the gun. I did get the original box which is in very good condition and two mags. One appears original the second is an aftermarket version. The bluing on the gun is in very good condition. Hoping one of you more experienced Ruger folks ...

Looks like 1 of Black Eagle Chrome wheel display pistols. It has blued bolt, safety, front & rears sights, bolt stop as well as the trigger. Correct right slot only magazine. 0 Replies and 4851 Views Ruger Mark II Government Target Model (Stainless Steel)  4851  0 Started by  BarkeyVA I saw a stainless steel Mark II Government Target Model with a 6-7/8'' bull barrel, serial number 219-524xx at a local gun shop that I think was made in 1993. Is there anything ''special'' about this model It has a few small superficial scratches on the barrel. Minimal grip wear. Asking price is $369, and the least he will take for it is $350. I am curious to know if that price is reasonable. A few government models (blued steel) on GB are listed at $500.

I recently did a trade off of armslist and came away with a Ruger MK III Government Target Model 678G. Serial number is 227-04686. It&39;s in almost perfect shape, with box and mags. I&39;ve been on a couple of the Ruger forums (both .com and .net) and the nice people there have helped me a bit with the gun&39;s origins, how rare it is (less than 200 made), etc. For an unknown reason, I can&39;t seem to register on rimfirecentral, where people talk about this ""unicorn"...
