0 Replies and 12584 Views Single Six 1955?  12584  0 Started by  Captainbo Hi, new member from MA. I have a Single Six 22lr 22 mag with S of 30xxx. Looks like chrome or polished finish and pearl grip. I spoke with a Ruger customer representative and she told me it was manufactured in 1955 but she couldn't tell me anything else because the records were paper with no access. I asked for a certificate of authenticity but she they weren't doing that right now. So I have a gun that was manufactured the same year I was born and owned for 40 years but know little about. ...

0 Replies and 4142 Views Another Super w/brass grip frame  4142  0 Started by  jesse47 Greetings one and all. Looking for some info on my Super. I purchased this beast around mid to late 1970s from a friend. With the growth in collectors over the years, I know there many much more knowledgable on this topic than I. I simply want to know if my gun came from the factory with the brass grip frame. It is a pretty straightforward 71/2''. Been shot with both factory and hand loads for a long time. Some muzzle wear but only at the extreme ends of the barrel. Beautiful deed blue...

0 Replies and 4104 Views 1957 Single-Six .22 tri-color lightweight  4104  0 Started by  Flathead V8 Hi everyone. I am just starting my gun-collecting years, and I was given this revolver. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what it might be worth and where a source for some original-looking grips might be. These ones look like they had some personalization somewhere along the line and, unfortunately, my initials are not ''JM''... :) Any help would be greatly appreciated and other than finding out what type of gun this is, I don't know much about them so if anyone wanted to shed some light ...

0 Replies and 3720 Views Early flat top 44 mag type 1?  3720  0 Started by  Centurion Hey guys I just purchased my first single action old model Ruger Flat Top 44mag and when I started doing some research via the net I ended up finding an article written by Bill Hamm discussing the different Ruger variations of early flat tops. If I am reading the article correctly I believe I may have what he refers to as a type 1. I did some further searching on the internet and have not found much else on the different types that he discusses in his article though. Can anyone point me in t...

0 Replies and 5058 Views 1965 Single Six Magnum only?  5058  0 Started by  rumpole My father just gave me the old 22 pistol I plinked around with when I was a teenager (40 years ago). I hadn't seen it since. It is an old model 3 screw Single Six that has on the left side of the body ''RUGER .22 CAL SINGLE-SIX'' with blackhawk logo and walnut handle. 5 1/2 barrel. Serial 391xxx . Father didn't have the manual anymore and he had only one cylinder (he didn't remember if it ever had 2 cylinders, he got it in trade from a retired small town cop). I cleaned it up, did a quic...

0 Replies and 10920 Views Super Single-Six "S"  10920  0 Started by  dfree5119 Just got my factory letter back confirming that my Super Single-Six (SC6) s/n 505861 is a factory second. It shipped in April 1967. Not sure how many ''S'' marked SC6's are out there. This is the first one I have seen. The red color is particularly attractive to me. You can see where it has thinned on the left side from the prior owner storing it in the factory box. The blemish on the right side grip frame just forward of the grip is probably the reason for the ''S'' marking. If anyone has ...

0 Replies and 4929 Views Long frame Super Blackhawk  4929  0 Started by  tomallen I just acquired a long frame SBH in the mahogany case and the serial number is slightly higher than the ATF C&R list and Dougan's book Know Your Ruger Single Action Revolvers 1953-63. Can anyone tell if higher serials have been encountered or is 3111 the gospel number The SBH in question is in 99.5 condition, satin finish, no logo on the barrel contour grip panels with the C stamp. Judging the bluing color and polishing lines by the other SBHs and flat tops I own the revolver is correct, a...

0 Replies and 3532 Views New acquisitions  3532  0 Started by  Shoothog Have recently acquired a couple old models. First is a Blackhawk 357 serial number 32256 with 6 1/2'' bbl. with steel ejector rod housing, nice gun with a few handling marks. Curious if it might be a reblue or not. Finish is highly polished. The frame is a plum color and the hammer is blued on all surfaces. Am not sage enough about earlier rugers to know if this is normal or not. Second is a Super Blackhawk serial number 80-12648. Nice clean gun with very little wear. Any info as to time of m...

0 Replies and 4651 Views Ruger Blackhawk Flattop - 7 1/2" Barrel  4651  0 Started by  PCFish Hi, I have an all original Ruger Blackhawk Flattop 44 Magnum with a 7 1/2'' Barrel. My understanding is that there were only 750 of them made with this barrel length. I'm looking to sell it and am having a hard time finding an appropriate value. Some people have told me $450 and some have told me $2000. I can't imagine any Blackhawk selling for $2000. I'm sure it's somewhere in the middle, I just don't know where. Like I said, the gun is all original (grips, sights, trigger/hammer mechani...

0 Replies and 4459 Views First Three Screw  4459  0 Started by  CPHarrison I just bought this one on GunBroker last weekend. I wanted to pick up a decent ''shooter'' just to see how I liked the OM guns, and the seller categorized this one as ''very good'' condition. I'm not so sure I'd agree. The turn line on the .22LR cylinder is quite pronounced, and the butt and backstrap have several dings between them. The left side grip is good, but the right side has a couple of minor scratches. The bluing is good except for a tiny bit of wear on the left front tip of the barrel...

0 Replies and 3707 Views 1957 Single Six Lightweight  3707  0 Started by  Anvil New here, excellent site! I recently picked up a 1957 Sigle Six Lightweight, alloy cylinder. Gun is in good shape, drag line on the cylinder, used but everything is tight and function is perfect. It has the original box and garauntee with matching serial numbers, a single six owners manual and the lightweight owners manual. Original parts and a Ruger work order for the conversion dated 1984. I will post pics tonight if anyone is interested in seeing it. I am wondering on a ballpark value. Thanks...
