0 Replies and 3229 Views staGrips???  3229  0 Started by  Jbar1971 Came across a set of plastic ''staGrips'' (as printed on grips) for the bearcats. They are oversize, I guess to be more hand filling. They're in good shape but look old. Any info on production, and are they worth anything I prefer the bearcats grip as is and just grabbed these as a curiosity. Thanks guys

After reading the ''LIST'' posting and seeing how many of the guns are ''documented'', several of which are in ranges we've requested info on in the past only to be told the records were destroyed, I was wondering if anyone knows just when this ''record damaging event'' occured 1960's 70's 80's Did collectors really have the foresight to ''document'' these early Flattop guns shortly after they were shipped and/or before the ''event''

7 Replies and 4896 Views Repro stag grips for Single Six  4896  7 Started by  MrEarle Forgive me if this has been asked before; does any one make reproduction stag plastic grips that look close to the ones Ruger used on the old SS So many out there, but not familiar enough yet to know which look most original. I am assuming original OEM are probably cost prohibitive for anything except a collectible piece. Any info on this subject is greatly appreciated!

0 Replies and 5321 Views Looking for a round Value of my S47 RugerBlackhawk  5321  0 Started by  Triggvi My dad passed on a few years ago and he left me his Ruger BlackHawk .44mag. I emailed Ruger with the serial number from the gun and they said it was S47 and was shipped in 1972. The gun is in near perfect condition having been stored in a safe for 30 years, There a few small spots where the bluing has rubbed off and the barrel in in perfect condition. The handles still have the black emblems on them. I am curious as to the rough value of the hand gun. If any can help I will be happy to send a f...

0 Replies and 3686 Views Any Source for Reversing the Transfer Bar?  3686  0 Started by  Buckstone I have the parts coming to return my flatgate Single-Six to its original set up. I've looked all over YouTube an the web. I can't find any instructions for installing them. I've done searches on here and haven't come up with anything. Ruger has a pretty good film on disassembling and re-assembling the New Model, but I'm at a dead end with doing the restoration on an Old Model Single-Six. Any links to the right information Thank You great wealth of knowledge.

0 Replies and 3314 Views Early Old Army Questions  3314  0 Started by  buxtonlookout I just picked up an ROA at a local auction. The S/N indicates that it was made the first year, 140-02xxx. it looks like it has never been fired, but has no box or paper work. I don't know if it is in the original configuration or not. It has a blue steel squareback gripframe with Acme Stag grip panels. The gripframe is about a 1/4 in. longer than a Blackhawk or Vaquero. The barrel has a single line address on the top - no other markings on the barrel. From what I gather, the only squareback...

0 Replies and 6474 Views Trigger plunger question - Single Six OM  6474  0 Started by  MrEarle I became the proud owner of a Ruger Single Six w/5 1/2 ' bbl recently, that I believe to be a 1966. It is serial 437xxx. It came only with the magnum cylinder - is it possible it was sold this way It jammed the first outing when the trigger plunger came out from behind the trigger. The dealer had his smith repair it, however I was not able to get details. I notice that even now the plunger is quite angled and looks like it will slide off the trigger. Is this normal This is most predominantl...

0 Replies and 4476 Views BKH47 Type 3... Was it or wasn't it?  4476  0 Started by  RugerHound Well, the photos got chopped off, but my question to the experienced Rugermaniacs out there is: ''Do you think this was a Type3 BKH-47''. The gun is SN: 17281 and was shipped in June 1959. I have seen SN 17898 which IS a Type 3 but I don't know its ship date. Any thoughts I know there's no way to validate this gun as a Type 3 or not... But I'd be tickled if some of you 'pro-collectors' had any thoughts to share about it! &91img&93http://i1145.photobucket.com/albums/o511/RugerHound/I...
