Anyone happen to know where I can find a box for a 1959 old model Ruger Blackhawk 357mag? I believe I need a box that is ""pre-catalog #"" but not sure. (Still new at this!) Also looking for the manual and tissue paper. Any info or help as to what I am looking for would be greatly appreciated.

Ah, yes, the sought after cardboard! ;)

The ""no catalog"" number boxes are rather scarce, however once in a while one shows up. I found a ""poor condition"" one at a show in Salt Lake City a few years ago. Despite the condition I took it home. Those early Blackhawk boxes can trade for $200, $300 and more!

    Good Luck in your search.

Holy smokes! I never thought I'd be tempted to pay those kinds of bucks for an old empty cardboard box... But I guess I would if it was THE right box...

    Best regards, Pete

Upon further consideration you may NOT need the scarce box. Have you ""lettered"" your .357? The Model Number would
have appeared on the box as BKH-34, BKH-36 or BKH-30, depending on the barrel length. These changes occurred in 1959.

    Sorry I overlooked this possibility.

Thanks for the info! I didn't figure on it being easy to find. I have lettered my '59 .357, ...BKH-34. I have come across one of these catalog #'d boxes. But with hopes of finding a pre-catalog #'d box, I passed it up. Maybe I shouldn't have. However, I am also looking for a set of the pre-conversion parts, in great shape, to keep with it. If you happen to come across any of these items, I'd appreciate the lead. But for now..... Gonna keep on huntin! 8-)
