Hi, I have 2 Ruger Old Army's in stainless steel which both have only 4 number serial no's,,,no prefix numbers.
They are 2868 and 5118 and I believe they are both 1976 made and 5118 has the bi-centennial sentence inscribed on the top of the barrel, whereas 2868 does not.
Can anyone tell me any more about these revolvers.
They are both in constant competition use, not closet queens.

The OAs are sure great black power shooters! The one that I have and shoot is extremely accurate.

According to the Red Eagle News Exchange the earliest known/reported non-prefix stainless Old Army with the ""Liberty"" rollmark is #2894, just 26 above your #2868. Your 5118 falls within the approximately 5000 non-prefix stainless OAs made with the ""Liberty"" rollmark.

    Thanks for that, Flattop.
As a matter of interest, old ROA's like mine are fetching around £600.00 second-hand over here at the moment.
As to their actual value, I have no idea other than what I've seen on GunTrader.
