I have FBI, Natl Academy, 50th Anniv issue Security Six, NIB, with all papers, boxes, etc. I know this was limited edition in 1984. does anyone know how many of these were made or sold. This is deluxe edition revolver, with case.

I have seen one of these and they are beautiful revolvers. According to the RENE there were two models and barrel lengths of the ""FBI National Academy 50th Golden Anniversary"" Commemorative. Since yours is a Security-Six I assume that yours has the heavy 6"" barrel and target grip (the other model was a Speed-Six with a 2-3/4"" barrel). I understand that there were 3 versions of the Security-Six, one with no engraving, one with about 1/3 engraving and one with about 2/3s engraving. What version do you have? Does yours have the FBI Gold Seal on the left side of the cylinder frame? If so I believe that is the 2/3s engraved version and only 30 of those are believed to have been made.
