    I came across a set of grips and wanted to know about them. I think they are XR3-Red. Not sure of wood or era. they have checker-board pattern.

    John, yes, they are indeed XR3-red grips and the checkering is obviously an attempt by some one to ""try"" and checker them, this is NOT factory nor by a ""
    professional"" as the pattern and the spacing is wrong.....being it is not very deep, I'd bet they could be sanded down and re-stained...........
    still nice grips , they work and I'd just hang on to them, never know when you will need a set ;)
